Susan Marie Virgil has served as the Senior Administrator of the National Security Studies (NSS) Program at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School since August of 2004.  She is responsible for contractual, budgetary, and administrative oversight of the professional development courses on and off campus.  In addition, she provides administrative support to the NSS Case Study Program and is the administrative liaison to the Office of Sponsored Programs at Syracuse University and to the Training Representatives of those organizations that send participants to the various National Security Studies courses.

Over the ten years she has been associated with the National Security Studies Program, as Program Administrator and now Senior Administrator, she has managed  the complex details of logistics, strategic planning, training design and program management for the various NSS courses that have been conducted.

Prior to joining the staff at Syracuse University in 1988, Sue owned and operated her own restaurant in Pompey, New York. Her expertise has grown out of the management requirements at the restaurant and the people skills she honed as well.

Sue resides in Fabius, New York with her husband and has two grown children, Josh and Tarah.
